PTDF Skills Gap Audit Survey

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is undertaking a Skills Gap Audit and Survey to capture the competencies and skills which are currently lacking in the mid-stream and down-stream sectors of the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry. The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) are collaborating with PTDF on this project with Lonadek Oil and Gas Consultants as the designated Contractor.

The purpose of this study is to ensure that a skilled Nigerian workforce exists for the planned deregulation of the downstream sector, implementation of both the Nigerian Content Act and Gas Master Plan. It is hoped that where low and inadequate capacity to operate and maintain in-country facilities exist the PTDF will implement human capital development programmes and initiatives with a view to closing these gaps.

In addition to audits and site visits to representative companies, a website link on  (http://www.ptdf.gov.ng/) has been set up to collate supplementary data on job positions, training needs and certification required from companies and service providers that are currently operating in the midstream and downstream sectors of the Oil and Gas industry locally and globally). Data available to the PTDF will be used for planning purposes leading to capacity, capability and competence development programmes which would be designed to close up identified gaps in the respective areas.
