Society of Piping Engineers & Designers (SPED) Training

Introduction:

The Society of Piping Engineers and Designers (SPED) certification course is a 15 weeks structured training programme which will be deployed over a period of six (6) months as a blended learning module. Participants would be allowed to demonstrate the gained skills and knowledge on the job and submit a developmental progress report before they can be allowed to qualify to the next stage of training. Dummy classes and course work are going to be administered to ascertain the level of competency of the participants.

The objective of this training is to equip Piping Engineers with the required technical, engineering and information technology skills. This training is structured to cover project work relating to engineering, piping design work and projects. The Society of Piping Engineers and Designers (SPED) has established a multi-level certification program for piping engineers and designers. PPD Certification is designed to meet the specific requirements of the Process Piping Industry

Program Format: This training programme will take place in two phases which are listed below:

Phase I: This phase leads to the award for Professional Piping Designer Level I Certification. The curriculum entails:

• Technical Drawings/Manual Drafting Training
• AutoCAD 2D deliverables for oil and gas facilities
• Level I-Basic PPD Certification Training

Phase II: This phase leads to the award for Professional Piping Designer Level II, III and IV Certifications. The course curriculum for this phase is designed to ascertain the applicant’s knowledge and competency in the Process Piping Industry and this curriculum entails:

• Level II- Advanced PPD Certification training.
• PDMS Training.
• Level III – Senior PPD Certification Training.
• Level IV – Lead PPD Certification Training.

Target Audience: Pipers, Piping and Designer Engineer

Delivery: The Courses will be delivered by Certified Trainers through lectures and practical sessions.

Duration: 15 weeks structured training program which will be deployed over a period of six (6) months as follows:

1. 6 weeks to cover phase I of the training programme.
2. 9 weeks to cover phase II of the training programme

Maximum Class Size: The maximum class-size for this training is 20 participants per class.

Dates:

• Module 1 -  November 21st  to December 2nd , 2011
• Module 2 -  December 5th to December 16th , 2011
• Module 3 -  January 16th to January 27th , 2012

Charges: Our charges for the training will be based on the resources/facilities and personnel that would be deployed for the programme as follows:

Phase I: The cost per participants for phase I is $ 8,000.00

Phase II: The cost per participants for phase II is $ 7,000.00
